Tim Gjonbalic's career started in the back of the kitchen. He worked as a busboy, food courier, and later a manager. At the age of 23, Gjonbalic was operating a restaurant when he saw the inefficiencies in the hotel market’s food model and the opportunities for improving the in-room dining experience. What Gjonbalic identified was the fact that high labor costs and inconsistent order volumes cause hotels to lose money on room service. These amenities were needed, however, to qualify them for additional stars. “I knew there must be a way to make food service amazing for the guest and profitable for the hotel” says Gjonbalic, “and that is how Butler Hospitality was born.”
